Executive Summary



The Project has been developed over the last 3 years and it has actually started last February 2018, since 2015 we have gathered all the info needed in order to proceed with the initiative and above all the required contacts to carry out this disruptive and unique proposal. We propose an all-inclusive Nature-Trekking circuit in the island of Bioko, in the Gulf of Guinea. The island belongs to Equatorial Guinea, and was formerly known as Fernando Poo, and its capital city Malabo as Santa Isabel. We already have contacts with public officials and local operators in Bioko. It is our will to implement a developed App called Mundoaventuras where all services as: payments, bookings, activities in groups, emergency calls will be offered. Tourist GPS location will be monitored through this application (under their consent), giving them security, possibility of cancel payments, cultural information, sports activities according with their preferences and historical references of visited locations and spots. The schedule would eventually include the possibility to hire extra services in a subsequent phase as biking, scuba, paragliding. Food, lunches, dinners and snacks will be provided to clients all over their stay. The circuit would take 7 days and 6 nights, it is mostly orientated as an ecological-sportive tour to the most beautiful locations of the island, visiting amazing cascades, unexplored extinct volcanos nowadays transformed into mysterious lakes, never-ending and lonely beaches, surrounded by exuberant green vegetation. All activities will be arranged by us (MundoAventuras). Excursionists would download a specific application for the trip on the day 1 at meeting point in the Airport, or in the moment of hiring the circuit package, through a given password. Departs would take place on Saturday mornings from Madrid, this would enable clients to connect on the previous day (Friday evening) from other European local origins as Rome, Berlin, Paris or London to Madrid. We will manage accommodation in Madrid to clients coming from Europe on Friday night. The coming back will be on the next Friday night (at 23h55), reaching Madrid in the early morning of Saturday. The flight to Malabo in Equatorial Guinea takes 5h30 in order to cover 5.200 kms. Note this is the closest Spanish speaking country in the world to Spain. Circuit will expand in a second phase to Corisco, Annobon 4 and third to Río Muní in the continent (Regions of Equatorial Guinea). Same know-how would be implemented in further routes to the Philippines and Dominican Republic. Nowadays we are in conversations with Ceiba Aircraft Company in order to agree a flat fee and booking to bring our first group of clients. 5 Location Equatorial Guinea (in Spanish: Guinea Ecuatorial), officially the Republic of Equatorial Guinea (Spanish: República de Guinea Ecuatorial, in Portuguese: República da Guiné Equatorial), is a country located in Central Africa, with an area of 28,000 square kilometres (11,000 sq mi). Formerly the overseas region of Spanish Guinea, its post-independence name evokes its location near both the Equator and the Gulf of Guinea. Equatorial Guinea is the only sovereign African state in which Spanish is an official language. As of 2015, the country had an estimated population of 1,222,245. The capital Malabo 3°45′N 8°47′E Malabo is the capital of Equatorial Guinea and the province of Bioko Norte formerly known as Santa Isabel. It is located on the north coast of the island of Bioko, known by the Bubis, its indigenous inhabitants, as Etulá, and as Fernando Pó by the Europeans. The city has a population of approximately 187,302 inhabitants. Spanish is the official language of the country. Spanish is the most-spoken language and practically the only one used by all citizens although Portuguese and French languages are also official, as well as Fang, Bubbi and others. Target Audience Target clients are people between 30 and 50 years-old, male and female. We think they will hire the package in couples or small groups of 4 friends. The excursionist’s profile we work with is a person that enjoys pure nature, trekking in the jungle, swimming in rivers and on the sea, and wants to avoid all the hassle regarding booking accommodation, transportation or dealing to restaurants in a country where tourism is still not developed. In Equatorial Guinea, almost no service or accommodation can be booked through internet, there is no possibility to pay around with credit cards. Prices can vary a lot when asked on the spot. Package will be sold as an all-inclusive set, including: flight, lunches, activities and accommodation. We will also offer a service to procure needed travel visa in the Embassy of Equatorial Guinea in Madrid. On a first stage, our marketing activity will be focused in Madrid capital city, brochures will be distributed in traditional travel agencies in their street offices. Second Phase will expand through Spain and third in Europe. 6 Campaign will also be deployed throughout Facebook, twitter. We will develop the application Mundoaventuras with special tools for marketing purposes that will attract more clients. Also we will draw attention of clients through the web page that is already operative, the web site will enable clients booking on line. Through this easy way, clients will have direct access to important aspects as security, safety in the island, as well as documentation needed in order to travel to Equatorial Guinea. Tourists will have info regarding weather conditions all over the year. We have implemented a powerful tool already operative when accessing to the webpage consisting of a direct on line chat to incoming visitors to the site. We will answer on line queries of clients, in doing so we will reassure client’s confidence on our service. This is also a not compromising way to market the trip that internet users like a lot. Regarding the circuit itself it will comprise a visit to Malabo capital city and stops in endearing towns as Luba, Riaba or fresh Moca, as well as natural places as Beaches of Ureca, Lladyi Cascades, Loreto lake, Biao lake and Basilé pick. We have also gathered information though a funpage created in Facebook in 2015, where we were able to realize about the major interests of our potential clients, the content of this funpage is basically as tour around Equatorial Guinea that gives basic information and pictures of different locations around the country. Without doing any marketing or investing in publicity we reached 385 people and 400 are following the page. When we proceed with this initiative we are sure we can capture the interest of thousands of people of our defined Target Audience using the funpage, just with an investment of 100 euros the range of FB is very powerful. As you can notice the interest translated into ”likes” is steady. We receive also visits from overseas, as Colombia, Italy, Mexico, Philippines and European citizens. We estimated that for every “like” can be realized 50 to 70 visits. We also have placed into googlemaps some pictures of very beautiful places in Equatorial Guinea, where you can read the address of our webpage So far we have reached 80.000 visits. Visa permit is required to Spanish citizens; it is not difficult to get it, but takes time and has a cost of 100 ·EUR. Among our services we would offer to manage it or we would indicate all the procedure to clients. Secondly it is important to get all vaccinations, above all the one against yellow fever, there are 4 medical centers in Madrid where clients could inoculate vaccinations that we would also give indications of how to reach them. Flight availability is a factor of uncertainty: nowadays Ceiba is the only airline company that operates to Equatorial Guinea from Madrid, although it is a good company and safe, it became common in the last months flight cancellations with no previous notice. Authorities of Equatorial Guinea have shown their interest in hosting more aircraft lines in Malabo airport. Malabo-Santa Isabel airport has been refurbished in the last two years and today holds modern installations, well renowned companies as Lufthansa or Air France are flying to Equatorial Guinea on steady routes. A key factor to the success of this business is to guarantee a flight ticket to clients that actually fulfils with schedule timing and is reliable, that is a major requirement in order to launch the package. It is also important to be covered by health insurance over the stay in Bioko, there are two hospitals that offer all guarantees, are private and attend under private insurance only. Therefore all clients will undersign a health policy prior to depart. Without insurance, clients will not fly to Bioko, we also will manage an insurance option in the all-inclusive package as the Spanish Law requires.
